Christmas Lecture 2025

It is with much pleasure that we can announce that forthgiving has been named as this year's Christmas charity partner of the King Street Aparthotel in Stirling. King Street Aparthotel is a beautifully restored B-listed building right in the heart of Stirling, blending historic character with modern comfort and convenience. in addition to its hotel suites, the building housing King Street Aparthotel also hosts WorKing Flexispaces - a modern, on-site flexible office facility. If visitors or colleagues need a workspace while visiting or staying at the Aparthotel, they will find everything under the same roof.

As part of the festivities, forthgiving Secretary Dr Tom Christie has been invited to give a guest lecture about his book "A Seriously Groovy Movie Christmas" - an entertaining account of the festive cinema of the 1960s and 1970s. Tom is the author of a four-volume history of Christmas cinema in the twentieth century (2016-2024), which spans the 1940s to the 1990s. This illustrated presentation will be taking place on Friday 12th December at 2pm, with all proceeds from tickets going directly to forthgiving.
